Preparation of an equipment list
Where do you start? How do you select equipment to fit it inside, what is a must-have?
Some clients already have an initial, sometimes even complete, equipment list, others want to purchase a particular brand. There are also those who come to us with information about their planned budget or who have just an idea or their premises. As you can see, this is what our list of services was created for – so that everyone can find what they need. We take an individual approach to everyone.
- type of club
One type of equipment is dedicated to low-cost clubs, other to mid-market, and the different one to boutique clubs.
- profile of club members
We define the potential members of the club: completely different kit should be arranged for businessmen, women or strongmen. Some will need mainly cardio equipment + machines with a stack, another group will need free weights and plate-loaded devices, another one – boxes for CrossFit. Dedicated cardio + functional machines are simply a must-have in the last case
types and sizes of zones
You may also need some special zones, such as a women’s, stretching, or chill out zone. If these are separate rooms, you can opt for products from a different brand than those in the “main room”.
- amount of space
It goes without saying, but it is often visible only during the visualisation process, that some of the devices simply don’t fit or…there are actually some unused areas.
For smaller spaces, we recommend dual-function machines and a limited free weights area, while for large clubs we recommend more basic and plate-loaded equipment. During peak hours and a lot of traffic, multifunctional machines such as the Multifunctional Cable Cross and gates are a great solution, replacing many individual pieces of equipment.
- budget
We recommend reconditioned machines, thanks to which you can not only save up to 70%, but also use the option of personalization.
- brand
Being attached to your favourite brand is understandable, but check out what the competition has – maybe buying different machines will give you an advantage.
Loads and accessories
How do you optimise the amount of these? Even the best calculations are no substitute for experience, good insight and a profile plan of club members our client wants to attract.
- In general, it can be assumed that we select one set of load per position (157.5kg in total). Some stations, such as the leg press or Smith crane require at least two sets, whereas for a prayer bar or benches designed for smaller muscle groups, half a set each is sufficient.
- The choice of dumbbell set size will be verified by the members. If the free weights zone leads the way, a wide range will be necessary, even over 60 kg.
- List of barbells…here we start with Olympic (min. 1 for a bench), through short, curled to specialised. There is no universal barbell. Moving an Olympic barbell to the CrossFit zone can lead to a high risk of damage.
- There are also racks for barbells and plates (we recommend equipment with load sleeves – a convenient solution that keeps order in the zone).
Fitness accessories are selected according to the list of planned classes and the maximum number of people in one class.
Complicated?
Even if our client already has their own idea, it is worth consulting. We have been in the market for years and have reliable tools that will optimise any equipment list. We will be happy to advise you.
